The theoretical part defines a helping profession itself. Next, there is defined the term stress - its causes, symptoms, effects, stress reactions and ways of its coping. As for causes, I define four basic stressors, which affect individuals in their everyday life. These are physical, chemical, biological and psychosocial stressors. As a follow-up I write about caused somatic and behavioural reactions due to the stress. The auxiliary part summarizes selected options of stress elimination with help of simple points, such as correct breathing, sport activities, a mental hygiene. The practical part summarizes a research carried out at the Home Pístina. There were asked two basic research questions. Those find out a stress impact on the Home personnel caused by their performed work and also look for diversity of stress between social services workers and operational staff. Data collection was carried out through both quantitative and qualitative methods. The initial collection of information was collected by using questionnaire forms. Subsequently, those data were verified by semi-structured interviews with four employees. The thesis is concluded by research results. There I inform about the necessity of motivational training and also a need to consider on-going supervision of the all home employees, as so far these sessions have taken place only with social services workers.
